Hawker Beechcraft has confirmed it has delivered the first eight T-6A trainers to the Iraqi Air Force.
 

July 26: Hawker Beechcraft has confirmed it has delivered the first eight T-6A military trainers to the Iraqi Air Force and is on schedule to deliver seven more by the end of the year.

Notification was made to the US Congress on December 9, 2008 of the possible sale of up to 20 aircraft to Iraq. HBC received the initial order in August 2009 and a follow-on order for seven additional aircraft in September 2009 - the contract will provide aircraft plus ground-based training systems, aircraft spare parts, technical publications, and two years of logistics support from the US Air Force.

Initial deliveries began in December 2009 and all 15 airplanes are expected to be in service by the end of this year. The aircraft are with the Flight Training Squadron at Tikrit Air Base.
